Come and enjoy the long summer days at one of the most hedonistic festivals in Tasmania. The Museum of Old and New Art is planning to transform Tassie’s northern city into a psychedelic playground for festival goers. Mona Foma is about fun and frivolity. It’s pink and bright, full of pop and bubbles. Saharan desert rock bands, Polish punk, Swedish pop icons, Ethiopian Jazz specialists, inflatable art… expect the unexpected.
Launceston is the gateway to Tassie’s north. Extend your celebrations a few days and explore. There’s Cataract Gorge to play in, Design Tasmania and QVMAG for an art fix, many hip restaurants to sample local produce, and watering holes boasting more than 150 local and international beers. Head to the Tamar valley for some very cool, cool climate wines and famous bubbles.
Stay tuned: Tickets will be released on 15 October. Don’t be haunted by the fear of missing out – go to mofo.net.au and subscribe so you are first to know what’s on!
