Taste of Tasmania

28 December 2018 - 03 January 2019
Princes Wharf 1, Hobart
Make merry and enjoy yourself at Australia’s oldest and largest food and wine festival – the Taste of Tasmania as it celebrates its 30th birthday.

Insiders Insight

The Taste started with just 22 stalls in 1988 to ensure the crews finishing the Sydney to Hobart yacht race had a reason to stay and celebrate their arrival in Hobart

There’s a party going on, would you like to come? You are invited to join us along Hobart’s waterfront precinct this summer for The Taste of Tasmania’s 30th anniversary.

Running from Friday 28 December 2018 – Thursday 3 January 2019, the program is huge. Featuring over 30 diverse events, there will be fine dining events, cooking classes, workshops, demonstrations and tastings from world-famous chefs, first-rate Tasmanian vineyards and distillers, and superb local producers, all supported by a vibrant theatrical array of free entertainment.

Taste of Tasmania

This year’s culinary offerings are proudly 100% Tasmanian, with over 110 stallholders showcasing delicacies from all over the state. Seafood, cheese, berries, cool-climate wines, craft beers and ciders, gin, whisky and much more will be on offer from established and emerging producers eager to share their goods.

It’s also the place to ring in the New Year #TassieStyle as the Taste of Tasmania harbour side transforms into a speakeasy celebration under the stars. Dine on flavoursome food offerings while enjoying the ambiance of live music and theatrical wonders, and a glittering New Year’s Eve fireworks show – boom!

The Taste of Tasmania includes both ticketed and free events.
